Job description:
Our office is seeking a reliable and compassionate Procedure Room Assistant to support our growing clinic. This vital role requires compassion, reliability, and multitasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will combine clinical, administrative, and patient-support responsibilities to help ensure a seamless and efficient experience for both providers and patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the patient for the procedure by positioning them comfortably and ensuring privacy
- Help set up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
- Hold or assist with positioning medical instruments as directed
- Ensure all necessary equipment is ready and functioning
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments or tools
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or report issues to the appropriate personnel
- Provide support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor the environment for cleanliness and disinfect surfaces and equipment
- Ensure all equipment used is properly sterilized before and after use
- Prepare the procedure room for the next patient, ensuring it is clean and well-organized
- Schedule patient appointments for follow-up visits or future procedures
- Answer patient inquiries, provide education on procedure details, and help resolve any concerns
- Order medical supplies as needed and ensure the procedure room is properly stocked
- Handle post-procedure tasks as needed
- Weekly cleaning of sterilization equipment
Additional Responsibilities:
Willingness to cross-train and assist in various clerical and clinical support areas, which may include but not limited to:
- Front Office: Check in/out patients, answer phones, verify insurance, schedule appointments, confirm and reschedule patients.
- Patient Care Tech: Prepare room and patient for provider visit, obtain vitals, perform urine screens, stock rooms, setup equipment, restock supplies.
Work Location & Travel:
Primary location is the Fitchburg office, with travel to our Ayer office (198 Groton Road, Ayer, MA) required to provide coverage on occasion.

Physical Requirements:
As a Procedure Room Assistant, you must be able to wear weighted lead aprons throughout procedures while remaining on your feet (standing or moving) for several hours daily.

Tuesday: 9:00am-6:00pm
Wednesday: 8:00am-5:00pm

Compensation: $18.00 per hour
